What to Expect When Auditioning

There is a fair amount of anxiety and nervousness that comes with auditioning for a part, especially when you really are interested in participating in the show/production in question. We understand this and want to do everything in our power to make the process as smooth, simple and enjoyable as possible.

It is important to realize that, from our perspective as a production company, the purpose of the audition is to give us an idea of what it would be like to work with you. Or, to put it another way: we are hoping to learn whether it’s a good idea for us to invest time, money and energy into a project with you; your audition is your chance to prove that it is.

Yes, we want you to look your best, but to us it’s far more important that you arrive on time (or a few minutes early), bring the items we ask you to bring and follow the plan that we discussed than that your hair looks good. We understand that travel issues and family emergencies do arise; we simply ask that if you’re running late that you let us know ahead of time.

During the audition itself, we shoot both stills and video. The video will feature footage of you modeling, in action (i.e. – running/doing yoga) as well as being interviewed. If you have any suggestions about things you’d like to do or topics to talk about, please let us know ahead of time so we can make sure to include them on the schedule.

Our auditions tend to last a little longer than the standard audition. We don’t simply want to see your interpretation of a scene and see how you read, we want to see how you interact with a variety of cameras and what type of personality you have on-camera in a variety of different settings.

We are excited to meet you and work with you and look forward to a great audition with you!
